Planetary Human: from fantasy to newsletter
To successfully meet the challenges of the future, we need to raise a generation of planetary humans— Earthlings — whose highest identity will be — planetary.

I’ve had this idea, this fantasy in my head for over two years now.
Attending
’s Campfires and Collaboratories inspired me to turn this fantasy into a newsletter.I didn’t know where to start and decided that the first thing I could do was to share my vision with 100 thinkers and see what would become possible from those conversations.
20 meetings later, I finally realized that I could (or should? or must?) start talking about it in text form, in a way that would help to share this vision with even more people.
Special thanks to Stowe Boyd for this inspiration: «Have you written about this? If so, send a link.»
I’m currently building a website at the domain planetaryhuman.org and this substack account of the same name.
Now.
We are born into a culture where we each have different identities, the highest of which is national identity.
But the problems facing humanity — wars, climate change, pandemics, and others — cannot be solved at the national level. To successfully meet the challenges of the future, we need to raise a generation of planetary humans — Earthlings — whose highest identity will be — planetary. I have a vision of how to do this through education, video games, and fiction.
In this newsletter I will consistently reveal my vision and share my ideas about why and how we could raise a generation of planetary humans.
Planetary yours,
Gleb Shu
